5th Annual Brave American Classic

On Saturday March 5th 2016, the 5th Annual Brave American Classic 5K Run/10K Run/1-Mile Walk, benefiting Boulder Crest Retreat for Military & Veteran Wellness (BCR) took place in Sewickley, PA.

VMSI is a proud sponsor of the Brave American Classic, and have enthusiastically watched the race — now listed as a CBS Pittsburgh “Best of Spring” race — grow in size and popularity each year!  This year’s race was no exception, with 487 runners braving the chilly temps, they raised $12,990 for Boulder Crest Retreat—SMASHING their goal of $8,000!

To date, the Brave American Classic race has raised over $150,000 to benefit Boulder Crest Retreat for Military & Veteran Wellness; a rural sanctuary that provides free accommodations, recreational and therapeutic activities and programs to help our nation’s military and veteran personnel recover and reconnect with their families upon returning home. BCR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is entirely funded through private donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Congratulations to all who raced, volunteered, and contributed to another very successful year. We can’t wait to see what records are broken in 2017!
