VMS Supports Veteran Entrepreneurs 6th Annual NVSBC Charity Golf Tournament

VMS Continuing a 16-Year Tradition of Giving Back to Veterans

At Veterans Management Services, LLC (VMS), supporting Veterans is more than a commitment. It is part of who we are. For more than 16 years, VMS has proudly supported organizations dedicated to improving the lives of Veterans and their families. What began as a commitment to giving back has grown into a lasting tradition rooted in gratitude, service, and a genuine appreciation for those who have worn our nation’s uniform.

For the VMS family, this mission is deeply personal. We recognize the sacrifices made by our nation’s Veterans, not only during their military service but also as they transition into civilian life, pursue new careers, and build businesses of their own.

That spirit of service and community brought VMS to the 6th Annual National Veteran Small Business Coalition Education Foundation (NVSBC-EF) Charity Golf Tournament, held on August 17, 2026, at the Army Navy Country Club’s Arlington Course in Arlington, Virginia.

A Day of Fellowship, Purpose, and Giving Back

VMS Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Paul Toor and Chief Service Officer (CSO) Ken Konkol, proudly represented VMS at this year’s tournament, joining members of the government contracting community for a day dedicated to supporting Veteran entrepreneurship. The event featured a team scramble format, bringing participants together through friendly competition, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to making a difference. Golfers also had opportunities to participate in special contests, including longest-drive competitions, straightest-drive challenges, and hole-in-one challenges.

While the tournament offered plenty of opportunities for conversation, laughter, and friendly competition, its true purpose extended far beyond the golf course. Every participant, sponsor, and supporter contributed to something much greater: helping Veterans pursue the next chapter of their lives with the resources, connections, and encouragement they deserve.

This year’s event raised $116,000 in support of the NVSBC Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Veteran entrepreneurs and strengthening the Veteran-owned small business community. The funds were generated through sponsorships, donations, SuperTickets, raffle tickets, and team sales. These contributions help the Foundation keep valuable initiatives, including its Fellowship and Consultation Programs, free to participants while making other programs and events more accessible to Veteran-owned small businesses.

Through education, training, networking, and professional development opportunities, the Foundation helps Veteran business owners navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship and pursue opportunities within the federal marketplace.

Honoring Service by Creating Opportunities

Military service instills values that extend well beyond the uniform: leadership, resilience, integrity, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to mission accomplishment. These same qualities often become the foundation upon which Veterans build successful businesses. Yet transitioning from military service to business ownership can present challenges. Access to mentorship, meaningful professional relationships, and knowledge of the federal contracting environment can make an important difference. That is why organizations like NVSBC-EF matter.

By bringing together experienced industry leaders, government representatives, and Veteran entrepreneurs, the Foundation helps create a community where Veterans can learn, connect, and pursue their business goals.

As a Veteran-focused small business, VMS understands the importance of these opportunities. We believe supporting Veteran entrepreneurs is not simply about recognizing their past service. It is about investing in their future.

Sixteen Years of Gratitude and a Commitment That Continues

VMS’s participation in this year’s tournament reflects a tradition that has continued for more than 16 years. Over those years, our commitment has remained grounded in a simple belief: Those who have served our nation deserve a community that continues to stand beside them.

We are grateful to the NVSBC Education Foundation for its continued dedication to Veteran entrepreneurs and to the many organizations and individuals who make events like this possible. We also extend our appreciation to the Army Navy Country Club for hosting this meaningful gathering and providing a wonderful setting for a day centered on fellowship and giving back.

For Paul, Ken, and the entire VMS family, participating in this event was another opportunity to honor the values that guide our organization and strengthen the relationships that make the Veteran small business community so special. As we look toward the future, VMS remains committed to supporting initiatives that create opportunities, strengthen communities, and honor the service and sacrifices of our nation’s Veterans.

Because giving back is not simply something we do, it is part of who we are.

We are proud to serve and to give back to those who served. Always grateful to our Veterans!
